Hello guys I will show how create a 3dsmax 3d rusty antique hardware model tutorial.
I have used following techniques shown below in this 3ds max tutorial.

[1]-Start 3dsmax and choose “Line” now create shape like this in the front view port
     Create three more shapes and set like me

[2]-Now join the vertexes like me

[3]-Your object should like this

[4]-Apply the extrude modifier with the amount of 14.0

[5]-Create four spheres like this

[6]-Create rectangle with the following size and apply the extrude modifier with the amount of 14.0

[7]-Create cylinder and set like this

[8]-Now Boolean the cylinder like this

[9]-Create circle and open the rendering palette now use the following setting

[10]-This is my rusty material which assign to the whole objects

[11]-Set the skylight like this with the following parameter

[12]-This is the final images
